To celebrate the new reign of His Majesty the King, the Cabinet Office announced a government-funded voluntary scheme throughout the United Kingdom to allow public authorities to apply for a free, framed portrait.
The scheme was open to applications from any parish, town, and community council.
KLCC was within the scope of this voluntary scheme and as our registration was approved, we were able to apply for the framed portrait.
Members approached Sue Ryder, Dee View Court, Caiesdykes Road, Kincorth, regarding the portrait and asked if they would like the donation, which was warmly received.
Committee members met with Hannah Crawford, Head of Operations to mark the occasion with a photograph showing the Kings Portrait in the reception area of Sue Ryder.
